Bayer Builders Crew

Bayer Builders Inc. is a family owned and operated construction company, working primarily in the Miami Valley area for over 30 years. The business was started by Don Bayer in 1976 and is now an Ohio corporation owned by Don Bayer and his son, Kurt Bayer.  We have always provided a broad range of construction services, everything from historically correct restoration to building custom homes.  Renovations and additions make up the largest percentage of our projects.

As believers in the one true creator God, and his son Jesus Christ, we attempt in every way to honor Him who has made us and eternally saved us.  Our career is nothing, if not performed in obedience to our Heavenly Father.  We desire to be a testimony of the joy of a life in Christ Jesus, while serving the needs of our fellow man.

Early in our company's history, diversity of projects was a necessity in the establishment and growth of a new business.  As time passed, our customer base grew along with our roster of skilled carpenters.  As craftsmen, we enjoy the diversity of general remodel.  We are interested in 'one room projects' (i.e. kitchen/bath remodels).  Kurt & SonsHowever, we have chosen to maintain a 'whole house' philosophy (integrating that new kitchen with an addition and energy upgrades).  This also makes us available for that 'unusual' project that you may need in your home.

Each of our projects are unique, in both design and function.  Our team of design professionals provide solutions for those common problem like small bathrooms, dysfunctional kitchens and space for a growing family.

We hold all of our work to high quality control standards.  The common challenge of a home remodel is to build a near perfect project in an imperfect setting.  These are the typical conditions for an experienced remodel company, and we welcome the challenge of providing better then expected results.  We also maintain long term relationships with our trade partners and hold them to the same high standards.

Complete care for the homeowner, and their property, is our primary concern.

Bayer Builders Inc. has a long list of satisfied customers from the Montgomery / Miami / Darke County region.  Most of our projects are from Oakwood/Kettering area to Troy and Piqua. The only work we do outside of the Greater Dayton area is small jobs on the vacation homes of our local clients.

A word on the environment:
Spray Foam InsulationECellulose Insulationnergy efficiency and sustainability of resources are considered with every project.  Remodeling an existing home is a great opportunity to conserve raw materials – updating an original building to serve a current need.  Bayer Builders Inc. uses every opportunity to reuse and recycle building materials during the remodel process.

The concepts behind a well built home, or 'Building Science' as it's called today, has always been of interest to us.  As long time remodelers we've seen first hand the building concepts that work well, and those that have failed.  Our homes are long term assets, and we feel they should be built to last well into the future.

We are excited to see huge advancements being made in energy efficiency, both in our building 'envelopes' and the mechanical systems that operate within.  The Dept. of Energy's "Energy Star" program has expanded beyond appliances, and now has a whole house certification.  This scoring tool measures not only mechanical and utility efficiencies, but also tests insulation and air leakage.  All of our new homes built since 2004 have been Energy Star qualified.

As a society we are quickly becoming aware of the potential for more durable and energy efficient housing.  The discusion over products, techniques, consumer lifestyles and rating standards will continue.  Check out this great article by Ron Jones from Green Builder magazine, as he observes the realities that the industry is facing today.
